The Perfect Nail Polish

It's funny sometimes how you fall in love with a specific color and you just can't find satisfaction in anything else that is close enough in color and is cheaper that you end up splurging on that one expensive nail polish. I would have to say that this is definitely the most expensive nail polish I have ever bought with my own money.

It's already been a full year since I've been working at The Faceshop at the Madang plaza in the center of Koreatown, Los Angeles. Always having been a girly girl with love for cosmetics, beauty and fashion, it was quite nice to work here and try out many of their products to find that some are amazing. It's definitely a bit tough if you start thinking about how it's so much cheaper in Korea and that to be straight up honest, you are paying for something that is just way too overpriced. But what can I say? I can't physically go overseas to Korea to buy these things, which means I just have to suck it up and deal with the American prices.

When people ask me whether I use The Faceshop products or not, I always say that it depends on the product. I have probably spent the most money on nail polishes and face masks while working at The Faceshop. Some of the nail polishes are really good priced as $3, but it ranges a whole lot. Until a while ago, the most expensive nail polish in store was $8, which is pretty much the same price as one of my favorite nail polish brands, Essie. A couple months ago, we got a new line of nail polishes in our inventory, which is the photo shown above -- Expert Nails. This is said to contain diamond powders that make the nail polish stay on longer and shinier than any other nail polishes (apparently). And it blew me away because of its ridiculous price... $14 for a nail polish? I know there are other brands out there that do cost a lot more than $14 but like I said, I've never purchased any nail polishes that cost more than $8.

It's quite funny though, because I absolutely fell in love with this color and I couldn't find a good enough...satisfactory knockoff anywhere else. I looked through at a couple of Korean cosmetic shops, and I couldn't find any. I looked through CVS and they were either too orange or too pink. Maybe I'm just really picky, but I just couldn't let this one go so after a while of debating, I decided to splurge and obtain it for the sake of my satisfaction.

The day that I bought that nail polish, I decided I was going to do my nails the first thing when I get home. It's been a while since I've done anything fancy to my nails, so I took the time to actually make my nails look like I possibly got my nails done at a salon. It's definitely tedious work and there was a time when I used to do this all the time, but it felt good to do the work on my own nails with the most expensive nail polish in my rack of nail polishes.

I know that was a lot of reading but it was my experience with this newest addition to my collection of nail polishes and I will get around to posting more of my nail designs when I get the time.

I'm very excited to be able to use some of you guys' nails as my model for my future nail posts!
Take care of your nails until then... you know who you are :)
